Founded in 1962 by Messrs. M.F. Baugher and Thomas M. Mettler, Baugher & Mettler established itself as one of the leading law firms for estate planning in South Florida. John W. Shelton joined the firm in 1974, the name was changed to Baugher Mettler & Shelton. Upon the death of M.F. Baugher the firm continued to honor his name. In 1999 Cater Randolph joined the firm changing its name to Mettler Shelton & Randolph. With the addition of William Carroll and Michael Sterlacci in January of 2007, the firm is now Mettler Shelton Randolph Carroll & Sterlacci P.L.
